I've read back my previous blogs, Which I hadn't delete, including the very first which I've started out in 2004. I've Realized, I was young once. Impulsive.
I do not have big dreams that I will change the world, But I've a small dream that if my existence made the world just that bit better, I would be satisfied. I do not need to leave a legacy for the world to know me, But I would be satisfied if I left a legacy to my future generations.
Life as it is, Long isn't that Long, Short isn't that short either. This realization throws back a question to me; a question that Martin Luther King Jr, or rather a quote from him ; 'Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'
I remember watching a youtube video, and its about an Indian man name Narayanan Krishnan, He said: ' Start Giving, See the JOY of Giving.' This greatly inspired me. I'm just another human out of the 6.8 Billion others, But I believe, will continue to believe, that the effort of ONE man, can lead to the change on a massive scale.
I strongly understand and believe why am I called to nursing, Yes, I want to strive high in my career, earn good money and live a good life, But, I still believe with all that, I'll be able to fulfill the fundamentals basics of what I'm called into, Giving, giving my all to my patients, It is only fair for them, I believe alot in educating the future generation, because change comes when people are educated, when they see and understand the Idea, the concept for change, and it will take the world by storm.
Changes never comes overnight, it all started out as a though, forming in the mind, that it gets so strong, it becomes a concept, that you plan, and if you want it badly enough, you put the concept into reality, implementation, and create the wave.
Nursing NEEDS changes. The Previous generation has done their BEST. Its up to our generation to rise up, rise up and take the leap of faith, initiate the change. I'm willing to take the lead, but I need a team of fellow comrades, just like how MM Lee changed Singapore, from just another slump to one of the world top city state, with thriving economy. MM Lee does realized and acknowledged, that it wasn't him alone that brought what Singapore it is today, it was his STRONG team of comrades, who carry out the tough decisions he made. If you do Love nursing, and realise of the need to chage, I hope you will become a comrade to me.
The world needs more LOVE, more kindness. To put oneself before others, what more is greater then that ?
Start Giving.
